Scholarships and grants

The Fondation de l’Ordre des dentistes du Québec is proud to offer scholarships and grants to:

SUPPORT the three provincial dental Faculties, for programs that contribute to improve access to dental care for the vulnerable people.

ENCOURAGE the development and the pursuit of projects that improve access to dental care for the most vulnerable.

PROMOTE social engagement among dental students.

IN COLLABORATION with the Réseau de recherche en santé buccodentaire du Québec and the Fonds de recherche du Québec en santé, support research that aims to improve access to dental care for the most vulnerable sectors of the population.

GRANTS

The grants for access to dental care are aimed to improve the accessibility to dental care for the most vulnerable people. We invite everybody, including the university, to submit their application by email to: info@fodq.ca.
The evaluation committee will evaluate each projects and determine if they qualify for the grant.

The grants for research are aimed to improve the accessibility to dental care for the most vulnerable people. We invite researchers and clinical researchers concern by the subject and wishing to submit an application to consult the www.rsbo.ca website, for general information on grants, eligibility criteria, documents to be submitted and procedures.
An outside committee evaluates the scientific value of each project submitted.

2022 Recipients

IN 2022, THREE GRANTS OF 15 000$ FOR IMPROVING THE ACCESSIBILITY TO DENTAL CARE WERE AWARDED TO::

  • The Faculty of Dental Medicine of McGill University for its Community Services program in favor of the population and the most vulnerable groups of Montreal.

IN 2021, THREE GRANTS OF 15 000$ FOR IMPROVING THE ACCESSIBILITY TO DENTAL CARE WERE AWARDED TO:

  • The Faculty of Dental Medicine of McGill University for its Community Services program in favor of the population and the most vulnerable groups of Montreal.

  • The Faculty of Dental Medicine of Laval University for the Émile-Beaulieu Fund and the ACCES dental clinic.
  • The Faculty of Dental Medicine of Montreal University to support the community project L’extension, support center in education and health

Also, A 3000$ GRANT WAS AWARDED TO:

  • The SPOT, a community health and education clinic. The mission is to improve health of marginalized, disaffiliated people, in a situation of socio-health vulnerability, not reached by the existing care and service offer. The clinic serves to train a professional succession aware of the social issues and health needs of this clientele. This grant was awarded to purchase perishable goods for the SPOT dental clinic.

2020 Recipients

IN 2020, NEW DENTAL CARE ACCESS GRANTS OF $15,000 EACH WERE AWARDED TO:

  • The Faculty of Dental Medicine of McGill University for its Community Services program in favor of the population and the most vulnerable groups of Montreal.
  • The Faculty of Dental Medicine of Laval University for the Émile-Beaulieu Fund and the ACCES dental clinic.
  • The Faculty of Dental Medicine of Montreal University to support the community project Dentaville located in Notre-Dame hospital. This is the third year that we are supporting this project.

2018 Recipients

In 2018, three grants of 15 000$ for improving the accessibility to dental care were awarded to:

  • University of Montreal’s Faculty of Dentistry, for the project Dentaville, which is a future community dental clinic located at the Notre-Dame Hospital. 

  • McGill University Faculty of Dentistry, for their project of dental care for immigrant children and refugees at the Montreal Children’s Hospital.

  • University Laval’s Faculty of Dentistry (2017), for the “Fonds Émile-Beaulieu” that is to contribute to improving the knowledge and a qualified formation for the futur people who will build our society of tomorrow. 

In 2017, two research scholarships were awarded to:

  • Research project of Dr Elham Emami, University of Montreal
  • Research project of Dr Janet Henderson, McGill University

AWARDS

The awards are for dental students, studying in one of the three dental faculties in Quebec, who have been very involved in community dental services during their years studying dentistry.
A committee in the dental faculties evaluates and selects the recipients for the awards from the Fondation de l’Ordre des dentistes du Québec.
